Weekend Away

Weekend Away is the KSWP's annual social weekend, organised by the KSWP committee and open to current members of the KSWP. The location changes each year, so as to encourage members from all across the UK to attend. The weekend usually takes place in mid-October, although the exact date may vary each year.

It is a relaxed weekend, and a chance for everyone to socialise away from the pressures of other events. The typical programme for the weekend is:

  • Friday evening - Congregate at a local pub for dinner
  • Saturday - Activities on site or in the local area
  • Saturday evening - Black tie dinner
  • Sunday morning - Local walk to a pub or local attraction
  • Sunday afternoon - Depart

Details are usually sent out a few months ahead of the event. Places may be limited depending on the accommodation, and the cost of the weekend is payable by the KSWP member (although some aspects may be subsidised from the KSWP budget).
